2024 Wedding Trends Predictions

One of my favorite parts of working in the wedding industry is being a part of and witnessing hundreds of weddings. Each couple I meet has a different vision, and no wedding that I have attended or helped plan is the same. Therefore, throughout the years I have seen the rise and fall of trends that break into the wedding world, those that take over Pinterest boards, and help guide couple’s decisions based on what they want and combine that with some newer ideas.

And if you’re in the business of bringing weddings to life, I know that, like myself, you love a Pinterest Board. This beloved social media of weddings emulates each aspect of a bride’s dream day, from colors to cakes, champagne toasts, and even inspiration for wedding day poses. The idea’s come to life in an online collage that we refer back to in every instance. And this social media, in turn, is a particularly large source for the rise of Wedding trends. Let’s take a peek into some of the trends that we think will be making more and more appearances as the 2024 Wedding Season unfolds.

  1. Intimate and Micro Weddings: The trend toward smaller, more intimate weddings may continue, driven by the desire for meaningful connections and more personalized celebrations. Micro weddings offer a more focused and immersive experience for both couples and guests.

  2. Bold Color Palettes: Expect to see couples experimenting with bold and vibrant color choices for their weddings, moving away from traditional pastels. Jewel tones, deep blues, and rich earthy hues might be popular.

  3. Unique Venues: Non-traditional wedding venues, such as art galleries, warehouses, and outdoor spaces, could gain popularity. Couples may seek venues that offer distinctive backdrops and atmospheres for their celebrations.

  4. Fashion Forward: Wedding fashion may continue to evolve, with couples opting for non-traditional wedding attire, unique accessories, and bold styles. Sustainable and ethically sourced fashion choices could also gain prominence. Weddings this year will see dramatic veils, guest dress codes, and multiple dress changes from the bride.

  5. Destination Weddings: The destination wedding trend continues to grow in popularity, offering couples the opportunity to exchange vows in stunning locations around the world.

  6. Film Photography: Nostalgia and creating memories comes down to the photography of capturing your special day. Film Photography has been on the rise, and creates a unique addition of more zoomed-in moments, in addition to the crisp digital photos that will help tell the story of your wedding day.

  7. Maximalist decor: This is characterized by bold, extravagant, and opulent design elements that create a lavish atmosphere. This can be brought to life through rich color palettes, elaborate florals, luxurious fabrics, dramatic lighting, and extravagant tablescapes.

  8. Hiring Wedding Content Creators: Couples are increasingly interested in personalized storytelling for their weddings, and hiring content creators allows them to capture their unique love story in a customized and creative way.

As your wedding planner, we want you to know that we are constantly looking for ways to bring unique experiences to the world of weddings, for the bride and groom, and also the guests. We are so excited for the beautiful weddings that will take place this year, and we can’t wait to find new inspiration in them. If you are newly engaged and starting to plan your 2025 wedding, we would love to be a part of your love story.
